Apparently Democratic New Hampshire state representative Nick Levasseur has something against anime. It's being reported that he posted the following on his Facebook status:
"anime is a prime example of why two nukes just wasn't enough....."
F**kwit.

On the other hand, Uncle Phran's old adage: "Anime is Japan's revenge for us nuking them twice" works in the reciprocal . . .
Yeah, but see, the Japanese animation industry was post-war. Those two nukes created anime. And Godzilla, so it makes it okay.
Post war economy created by the U.S. is pretty much to blame for anime, when you look at it this way.
Crap, that means we're to blame for this.

So silly to think you could post this on a social network on then be surprised when people notice and are pissed. Why do we continue to vote these orifices into office?
I dunno. I think I'd rather not know if our congressmen are anime fans. Kinda creeps me out thinking about it.
The anime part I could give a shit about. It's the "more than 2 nukes" that offends me, along with the sheer cluelessness these fuckers have when it comes to what they say. The media is ALWAYS watching/listening/reading.
Some public figures understand that they are under the public eye. Some never get it. This guy thought his opinion was gonna be greeted by high fives and back slaps and there'd be a few good laffs all around. The fact that his statement got a lot of people pissed off is a good thing. It shows what a fucktard his is AND it shows that society isn't so far gone that they would accept this kind of crap from a politician.
When comments like this are ignored or even considered acceptable by public figures, that's when I'd start getting worried.
