"Tangled": Cool Read

To be honest I wasn't interested in seeing Tangled until I read this article.

It's at the $1 theater right now, and can't be any worse than "Yogi Bear"...

HAH! Flummoxed wymmynyst race-baiting and sexual subliminals aside, I am looking forward to the buttery popcorn and soda pop even more than what's on the screen :P

You posted this a day early. April Fool's is today not yesterday.

P.P.S.

I finally saw 'Tangled', and it's *MUCH* better than I'd expected it to be. Sure it's a bit cheesy in parts, but this was cut from the classic Disney cloth, so no surprise there. There's a goofy, Monty Python-esque song-and-dance around the middle, but The sappy love songs are kept to a minimum and one is even used to good effect. With only minimal stylized violence and a little on-screen blood, this "PG" film would otherwise be rated "G".

Good use of CGI rendering all around, and particularly excellent in a couple of spots.

And another thing? >>SPOILER!<< The angry womyn of color that Bruce linked to obviously didn't watch the entire film, as Rapunzel's long, blond tresses are trimmed at the end, yet she still retains whatever inner strength she possessed.

Overall, it's lighthearted and breezy, leaving you with a happy ending and wondering where that hour and fifty minutes went. A good message here, and only a couple of areas that leave you wondering a little bit -- I wish I'd seen this a little sooner, as the Dollar Theater print was gettin' pretty worn...

Chee, I watched Tangled and thought it was pretty good. Inspector Zenigata as a horse had me laffin' my butt off.
