Yomiuri: Cops, ex-cons spend wild night in Kawasaki
A Kanagawa prefectural police sergeant and three of his colleagues took two female prisoners out for a night on the town after their release, it was learned Thursday...According to investigators, the police sergeant met a 34-year-old female detainee in June last year, following her arrest on suspicion of violating the Stimulants Control Law. When she asked him for his cell phone number, he gave it to her. The woman, together with a 45-year-old female detainee arrested on similar charges, were released after receiving suspended sentences. The 32-year-old woman called the sergeant, and they began regularly calling each other.
At the end of that month, the sergeant threw a party at a Korean barbecue restaurant in Kawasaki to celebrate the women's release. With the three colleagues in tow, the six cops and two women went on to a pub and karaoke bar, drinking and partying for about 10 hours. The 42-year-old and 39-year-old police sergeants received two polo shirts worth about 2,500 yen each from the two women as tokens of their gratitude for the kindness the men showed them in jail. Then, the two police sergeants went to an amusement park with the 34-year-old woman. One of the police sergeants told inspectors he had an intimate relationship with the woman.
