Used to be fired chicken was worth a poor man's dole, but KFC has become pretty expensive over the years, and the only way to get your money's worth is by hitting the lunch-time Buffet. The food ain't all that, but the floor show is the stuff of legend (there's nothing like the spectacle of Midwestern suburbanites gorging themselves, and New Year's Day, in particular, is a feast not to be missed).

Should come as no surprise that Uncle Phran still hits the KFC buffet with some regularity, but I judiciously save my fried chicken meltdown for Popeye's on Lake Street. Better food, and there's nothing more universal than watching folks from every race, creed, and social position attempt to utilize multiple languages in order to get a #4 with a couple of large sides -- it really puts things into perspective ; )

Hah hah....DVC, remember when you guys came to visit me in Brewtown, crashed on my floor, and we went and got 3 buckets of Popeyes? Good times...

I wonder if they have Popeye's in Japan?

Popeye's in Japan would be a no-brainer, but I don't think the Nihonjin have gotten the hang of cajun just yet...

There's an idea. Gotta see if I can get the Popeye's Franchise for Japan.

Hillsy, how could I forget! Guzzling Capital Amber and Stella with huge buckets of chicken!

I think I dropped $400 at Sam's alone. Good times indeed.

And didn't you bust out the Betamax for some old school 'toons?
