Beckii Cruel is the "new Magibon" (or, as some would say, the "new Cracky-chan". She's a winsome British teen whose YouTube parapara made her a phenom on Nico Nico Douga. She has a DVD coming out in Japan and a huge fanbase. Those videos are from her YouTube stuff and her concert in Akihabara last Saturday.
It all makes sense when you realize that NND and the Chans drive entertainment trends now.
You have to admit she's a cutie-pie. My heart belongs to Shinozaki Ai, though...
How could she be the new Magibon? All Magibon did was sit in front of a web cam and blink. At least this girl dances.
Extra points to the net trollops for finding new ways to separate idiots from their money. But entertainment trends? Dude, I've never heard of this chick until it was posted here. And Magibon? What kind of entertainment trend is that. I'd rather watch old Audrey Hepburn movies - SHE IS A CUTIE-PIE and actually does something entertaining.
Hits on NND don't translate to "Entertainment Trend" if nobody outside the web knows diddly about her.
The Chans drive Web trends, and Web trends drive entertainment trends in all other media.
Dang, Bruce! I'm glad someone here has boned-up on this stuff!
I'm a little slow coming out of the gate, and maybe too old to be ogling the young stuff ^_~
(P.S. Kev pointed this one out to me)
Jeez...I just learned about Magibon not too long ago....there's a new one already? The interwebz make my head hurt.
Just do what I do: ignore this crap. It's not worth worrying about.
"Magibon's vlogs and physical appearance are often subjected to criticism or rude remarks by non Japanese-speaking viewers. On the other hand, Japanese viewers, particularly Japanese males, tend to be very welcoming of her and her vlogs."
Yep. That sorts it out for me. I think Phran showed me her once and I was like "WHY?!?"
The modern day culture of celebrity was begotten of Reality TV and sired by Creative Labs... it's gotta stop sometime, right?
