IBARAKI, Osaka -- A man under indictment for throwing away hundreds of pairs of little girl's underpants near homes around Ibaraki has been hit with a fresh arrest warrant over the 1994 murder of a woman at an Osaka hotel, police said.

Osaka Prefectural Police served the arrest warrant accusing 48-year-old Kazuo Oshitani of murder and robbery after his DNA matched samples taken from a hotel room in Osaka where a woman was robbed and killed in January 1994.

The breakthrough comes about a year before the statute of limitations for the case runs out in January 2009.

Earlier this month, Oshitani was arrested and indicted for breaking the Waste Disposal and Public Cleaning Law for dumping girls' underpants in homes in the western part of Ibaraki from September to October this year."
