VOICE ACTING STARS LEND THEIR TALENTS FOR PEACE AND CHARITY

WASHINGTON D.C. - March 30, 2006 --- Voices For, a new non-profit organization, announces the upcoming release of Voices for Peace, an album of war protest songs both modern and classic. A profits from the album will be donated to CARE and Doctors Without Borders. The album will be released on May 1, 2006 and there will be a special preview at Shiokazecon in Houston, TX April 28 – 30.

Tracks include covers of War Pigs, War Again, Eve of Destruction, Masters of War, One Tin Soldier, Gun Shy, For What It’s Worth, War, Rooster, Where Have All the Flowers Gone, Blowin’ in the Wind, Fortunate Son and U2’s Sunday Bloody Sunday.

Vocals for Voices for Peace are performed by Greg Ayres (Saiyuki, Neon Genesis Evangelion), Chris Ayres (Gantz, Full Metal Panic: FUMMOFU), Chris Patton (Full Metal Panic, Fullmetal Alchemist), Brittney Karbowski (Gilgamesh, Yumeria), Mike McFarland (Full Metal Alchemist, Dragonball Z, Lupin III), Tiffany Grant (Evangelion, Chrono Crusade), Kira Vincent-Davis (Azumanga Daioh, Digi Charat), Amanda Winn Lee (Gunsmith Cats, Evangelion), Jamie McGonnigal (Weiss Kreuz, Shadow Hearts:From the New World [PS2]), and Voices For Founder and former anime director/producer/artist, Jan Scott-Frazier.

The music was performed by Dale Tippett, Jon Sugerman, Rich “#4” Aszling, Justin Smith and Jan Scott-Frazier with additional tracks, War Pigs and Fortunate Son, performed by Chicago gothic metal band Something Beautiful. Rooster and Gun Shy were performed by Mike McFarland, Evan Jones and Jerry Jewell.

Graphic artists contributing to this debut album include, Doug Smith (ADV, Studio Ironcat), Robert DeJesus (Playstation Magazine, Marvel, Harper Collins), Steve Bennett (Studio Aoyama, Studio Ironcat), Rikki Simons (Gir in Invader Zim, comics Ranklechick and his Three-Legged Cat, Super Information Hijinks: Reality Check!), Tavisha Simons (comics Ranklechick and his Three-Legged Cat, Super Information Hijinks: Reality Check! and ShutterBox), and Kevin Bolk (Interrobang Studios).

Voices For, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, is a collaborative effort founded by Jan Scott-Frazier in the hopes of bringing attention and support to vital and socially-responsible organizations around the globe. Through organizing the efforts of artists, performers and other members of the anime industry, Voices For will serve the needs of local as well as international efforts towards peace, health, tolerance and recovery.

WHOA. After years of partaking of the wacky tabacky I have ben off it for a solid year, but reading this press release is like a rush to the head of some very powerful stuff! Definitely a worthy cause, but I am not always down with cover versions. Still, this sounds like the audio equivalent of peeling back a badage to look at the gorey wound festering below, and in that sense I'm interested . . . (DVC)
