The 1965 movie Gamera: The Giant Monster will get a "Special Edition" release from Shout! Factory on May 18th for $19.93. Hope this turns out as well as the Classic Media Gojira releases.

I have the first Gamera movie (dubbed) as part of a multi-disc boxed set I picked up at last year's Minnesota State Fair (40 movie for a dollar ain't bad, eh?) and it is great, cheezy fun.
What's the point of this? Most of the original double "m" Gammera movies are in the public domain. You can pick them up on DVD for next to nothing OR just download 'em for free off the Internet Archive.
@Toho - I'm looking at this as a test. Add value to something free and see if you get buyers. The thing is the extras are going to have to be good enough to sell this.
True. And this does have the original version in widescreen. I pre-ordered it, so they already have my money.
