Chocolate beer can be done (e.g. Southern Tier's Choklat), but I just don't have a lot of faith in the big Japanese companies pulling this off.
Edit: The chocolate-flavored stuff I drank as a kid was in fact a brand called "Champagne Brut" -- they had three flavors, and it was sweet, fizzy artificial crud! Can't find any mention of it on Google, so maybe it was all just a childhood fever-dream?
